Judas Priest firar 50 år som band

Ett av världens största band och ikoner inom heavy metal, Judas Priest firar 50 år som band och gör sig redo att släppa en mäktig samlingsbox. Boxen som kommer finnas i en limiterad upplaga släpps den 15 oktober och innehåller alla officiella livealbum och studioalbum samt 13 osläppta skivor. Boxen heter “50 Heavy Metal Years Of Music” och innehåller totalt 42 skivor som blivit mixade på nytt av Tom Allom på La Cucina W8 samt mastrats av Alex Wharton på Abbey Road Studios.

Förutom samlingsboxen släpps ett utdrag från boxen som CD, 2LP och digitalt den 15 oktober. Till fansens stora förtjusning startar firandet av bandets 50 år tillsammans redan idag när Judas Priest släpper den tidigare osläppta låten “Hellion/Electric Eye’ from the Turbo ‘Fuel For Life’ Tour – Live In Houston, TX – June 21, 1986 – The Summit”, lyssna här.

Judas Priest bildades ursprungligen 1970 i Birmingham och räknades snabbt som pionjärer inom heavy metal med album som “Sad Wings of Destiny” (1976), “Sin After Sin” (1977) och “Hell Bent for Leather” (1978) och liveinspelningen av “Unleashed in the East” (1979). Under 80-talet tog Judas Priest över arenor runt om i världen och skapade musikhistoria så väl som satte stiltrender som skinnjackor och nitar. Deras framfart fortsatte under 90-talet med albumsläpp, Grammy Award och mäktiga konserter. Nu är det dags för bandet att samla karriären på “50 Heavy Metal Years Of Music”.
