Dave Gahan och Soulsavers släpper albumet “Imposter”

Legendariska Dave Gahan och Soulsavers (Rick Machin) gör sig redo att släppa sitt tredje album tillsammans. Den 12 november släpps ”Imposter” ett album som innehåller 12 låtar och som under november 2019 spelades in med ett tiomannaband i den kända studion Shangri-La i Malibu, Kalifornien.

På ”Imposter” tolkar Dave olika genrer och tidsperioder när han och Soulsavers ger nytt liv åt låtar av stjärnor som Neil Young, Bob Dylan, PJ Harvey, Charlie Chaplin, Cat Power and Mark Lanegan. Alla låtarna betyder mycket för Dave och är en reflektion av hans liv, berättat av andra men nu med Daves unika röst. Den 8 oktober släpps ”Metal Heart” som blir det första smakprovet från det kommande albumet. Originalet skrevs av Chan Marshall (Cat Power) och släpptes 1998.

Dave Gahan berättar om albumet; “When I listen to other people’s voices and songs—more importantly the way they sing them and interpret the words—I feel at home. I identify with it. It comforts me more than anything else. There’s not one performer on the record who I haven’t been moved by.” Han tillägger; “I know we made something special, and I hope other people feel that and it takes them on a little kind of trip—especially people who love music and have for years.”

“Imposter” som även är producerat av Rich Machin och Dave Gahan blir uppföljaren till det hyllade albumet ”Angels & Ghosts” som släpptes 2015. Det nya albumet kommer att släppas fysiskt och digitalt via Columbia Records.
